Biography

Emalie is a Senior Lecturer and Accredited Practising Dietitian with the Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Innovation Team. 

Her research interests include designing, implementing and evaluating food environment and health policies, and infant feeding practices for childhood obesity prevention.

Emalie is a Senior Lecturer and Accredited Practising Dietitian with the Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Innovation Team. 

Her research interests include designing, implementing and evaluating food environment and health policies, and infant feeding practices for childhood obesity prevention.

Emalie is the course coordinator for Nutrition for Health Professionals 1 (DIET2001), teaching both dietetics and pharmacy students about understanding nutritional requirements in specific population groups across the life span to promote and maintain good health.

My Research Activities

Emalie’s recent postdoctoral work has focussed on implementation science and research translation across the research areas of early childhood obesity prevention policies in primary health care, food security in a remote Aboriginal community, and scaling up the use of potassium-enriched salts.

Previously, she completed her PhD at The George Institute for Global Health, where she studied the design, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition policies and advocacy strategies to create healthier food environments around the world. Her PhD has impacted 2 global guidance documents by the World Health Organization, influenced 2 Australian policy changes and contributed to the design of 2 implementation toolkits.
