Dr Sharon Coyle

Biography

Dr. Sharon Coyle is a senior lecturer at the School of Information Systems and Technology Management, UNSW, Sydney. Prior to joining UNSW, Sharon was a lecturer and an award-winning educator at The University of Sydney Business School. She holds a PhD, a Masters of Business Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Galway (Ireland).

Dr. Sharon Coyle is a senior lecturer at the School of Information Systems and Technology Management, UNSW, Sydney. Prior to joining UNSW, Sharon was a lecturer and an award-winning educator at The University of Sydney Business School. She holds a PhD, a Masters of Business Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Galway (Ireland).

Sharon has held numerous academic roles including academic lead for the design and inaugural delivery of an Executive-Education Systems Innovation Course with the Royal Australian Navy. She has designed and delivered a variety of courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and Executive Education level receiving several awards for Outstanding Achievement in Education from the University of Sydney Business School. Some of Sharon's courses include: Digital Strategy, Project Management in Practice, Agile Delivery, Design Thinking, Systems Analysis, Complex Decision Making, Digital Business Innovation and Enterprise Systems. Sharon has also been responsible for new course design and delivery via distance and blended learning.

Sharon has published and presented her research at leading international conferences and industry forums including the International Conference in Information Systems (ICIS), the European Conference in Information Systems (ECIS) and the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS). Her work is also published in leading practitioner journals such as IEEE Software, Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management and the International Journal of Intelligent Information Systems. Sharon is particularly interested in research pertaining to agile projects, adaptive processes, project management, quality indicators and educational innovation.

Prior to joining UNSW and the University of Sydney, Sharon was as a lecturer and Director of the Masters of Business Studies Programme at University of Galway where she was a member of the postgraduate programme board of directors. Prior to joining academia, Sharon gained extensive industry experience in her work as a Management Consultant for Accenture, working on a variety of high-profile projects for government bodies and financial services institutes.
