Ayah Wehbe is an early career researcher and part of the Disability Research team at the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC), in UNSW Sydney. Her research interests are diversity in disability and d/Deaf studies, as well as inclusive research methods. 

In 2016, Ayah completed her Honours thesis on women with hearing loss who come from an Australian, Lebanese-Muslim background. Since then, Ayah has worked on many research and evaluation projects about disability, including a Review of the National Disability Strategy (NDS) and Peer Support Practice Review. 

Ayah started her PhD in June 2019 at the SPRC, focusing on Muslim Women in Australia with hearing loss (https://www.arts.unsw.edu.au/our-people/ayah-wehbe).

She also shares her own expereinces as an Australian Muslim woman with hearing loss on her blog called Silent Signs (http://silentsigns.net/).
