Shona is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in Tandem PV Interfaces, working on the OMEGA singlet fission project. The project aims to boost the efficiency of silicon solar cells through carrier multiplication in an organic capping layer. Shona is a key member of the silicon device and interface teams, aiming to understand the charge transfer process from the organic layer into the silicon solar cell and develop systems which maximise this efficacy of this.
Shona completed her PhD in Material Science at the University of Oxford in 2024, researching alternative dielectrics for hole selective TOPCon contacts for high efficiency silicon solar cells. During this time she developed extensive knowlege of thin film deposition and characteriastion techniques.
