Biography

Alexander M. Hynd, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UNSW Sydney's School of Social Sciences. His research examines the Green Energy Statecraft (GES) of Indo-Pacific states as they seek to maximise the benefits of the region's green energy shift.

Alexander M. Hynd, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UNSW Sydney's School of Social Sciences. His research examines the Green Energy Statecraft (GES) of Indo-Pacific states as they seek to maximise the benefits of the region's green energy shift.

Alexander's academic research has been published in leading international journals including International Studies Quarterly and Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space. His commentary and analysis is regularly published in outlets including The Conversation, East Asia Forum, and The Lowy Interpreter.

Alexander is also Non-resident Fellow at the University of Vienna's European Centre for North Korean Studies. He is a former Non-resident James A. Kelly Korea Fellow at Pacific Forum, and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Indonesia. He has spent the last 12+ years living and working across public and private sectors in various parts of the Indo-Pacific, including South Korea, Indonesia, and Australia.
