My Research Activities

Gillian Moon is currently Project Lead for the Australian Climate Accountability Project, an initiative of the Australian Human Rights Institute at UNSW in response to the grave threat posed to human rights by climate change. The Project is investigating the role of emissions from Australia's exported coal and LNG in driving aggravated climate change and human rights harms in Australia, and the corresponding human rights obligations of governments and corporations. The Project is developing Human Rights Guiding Principles for a staged and just phase out of Australia's coal and LNG exports, in accordance with the temperature goals of the Paris Agreement.
