Nanoparticle interactions with the vasculature

Nanoparticles are extensively explored for many cell contacting application such as drug delivery and diagnostic imaging with their safety a topic of much debate and largely related to accumulation within cells. Systemic administration of nanoparticles requires their transit across the blood vessel interface prior to accumulation within target cells.

The aim of this project is to understand how nanoparticles interact with and transit the blood vessel wall. The hope is that such knowledge will inform the safety of nanoparticles and enable their development for healthcare applications.
