Research Interests:
The field of Hyperbaric Medicine is regarded with great suspicion by many medical graduates. This is due at least in part to both widespread ignorance of the effects of high doses of oxygen, and a poor clinical research base. Research Interests:
The field of Hyperbaric Medicine is regarded with great suspicion by many medical graduates. This is due at least in part to both widespread ignorance of the effects of high doses of oxygen, and a poor clinical research base. In this regard, and working with colleagues from the USA, UK and Germany, we have collated, appraised and performed a number of meta-analyses of comparative clinical trials in the area. The current focus of my work is now to perform a series of randomised clinical trials in order to investigate those areas we have identified as promising.

In Anaesthesia we have an active research group and are members of the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network and the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA).
