Dr Yafeng Ma has been a part of the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research (Liverpool) since 2014. Dr Yafeng Ma has been a part of the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research (Liverpool) since 2014. Dr Ma's transition from her previous extensive experience in cancer liquid biopsy, clinical trial studies, cancer cell biology, and molecular biology to the Obstetrics Research Group, under the guidance of Prof Jon Hyett, is a testament to her adaptability and versatility. Her knowledge and interests in cell free DNA, cell free RNA and exosomes have seamlessly transferred the area from cancer liquid biopsy to non-invasive prenatal diagnosis for maternal health studies.

From 2009-2013, Dr Ma had 4-year post-doctoral research at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research (Glasgow, UK).

From 2004-2009, Dr Ma had her PhD training at Leiden University (The Netherlands).
