He is a Technical Assessor for the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), a member of the RCPA Quality Assurance Program Advisory Committee, and former Director of the Australian Society for Medical Research.

He has 20 years’ experience investigating the genetic and epigenetic causes of cancer with >80 peer-reviewed publications (>4500 citations, h-index 34) and has contributed to knowledge of the genes and types of molecular alterations that contribute to a range of diseases.
