Professor Simon McIntyre is the Director of Educational Innovation at UNSW Sydney and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA). Simon’s work over the years has focused on driving data-informed, personalised learning strategies and pedagogy led innovation of digital technologies to improve student and staff experience. In his current role, he works collaboratively with the educational community through a human-centered, design-led approach to streamline digital ecosystems and ensured that both AI and immersive technologies are seamlessly integrated to support learning outcomes and improve the educational experience. Simon is committed to reimagining education, making it simpler, more effective, and aligned with human needs.

He has pioneered award winning online teaching practices, motivating hundreds of students to build their digital literacy and collaborative skills. He also led the design and implementation of a series of award winning UNSW professional development programs for online teaching practices. He designed the world’s first fully online Master of Cross- Disciplinary Art and Design program and several successful globally disseminated projects, including the Learning to Teach Online professional development resource and the Massive Open Online Course."
