Professor David L Morris is a Clinical Academic of the St George & Sutherland Clinical School, located on the grounds of St George Hospital.
Research Interests: Surgical Oncologist, principally interested in treating metastatic cancer. Large databases of peritoneal and liver surgery Peritoneal and lung metastases. Basic cancer research lab, cell biology and drug development. Three drugs from our laboratory are under development: aminoacetonitrile pathway inhibitor, benzimidazole carbamate VEGF inhibitor and enzyme combination treatment for mucin-containing cancers. Also tumour ablation – bipolar RFA probe developer.

My Grants
I have hand held many peer review grants. However founded a spin off biotec company which has drugs in phase II and in the source of our lab funds.
My Research Activities
David Morris Cancer Research Fund
Research breakthroughs made in the past by Professor David Morris, from the UNSW Medicine Department of Surgery at St George Hospital Clinical School, will allow doctors to make a more accurate assessment of cancer patients' prognosis and to improve their quality of life. This is the first time that radiology has been found to provide information about a tumour’s biology which affects prognosis.
The David Morris Cancer Research Fund was established to help fund research on liver, peritoneal including colorectal, appendix and ovarian cancers, carried out in the Department of Surgery at St George Hospital, which is a principal teaching hospital of UNSW.
