I am a practicing clinician and medical educator, with specialist qualifications in Infectious Diseases and additional degrees and fellowships in both university learning and teaching and medical ethics. My teaching philosophy is student centred and incorporates role modelling, mentoring and dialogue with students. I focus on teaching students problem solving, analytical thinking, reflective practice, communication skills and teamwork as much as content. I teach medical students from first to final year, across both campus and the workplace (hospital). I tend to teach in a way that embeds learning in the clinical context that will become their professional environment. 

I am involved in thought leadership and innovation within the Faculty of Medicine and am currently working on multiple projects in this space, including the incorporation of digital health literacy, leadership and academic development.

I also champion gender equity and am the Gender Champion for UNSW (2019/2020). This gives me the opportunity to listen to and represent any gender related equity issues. I am passionate about supporting Women in Medicine and helping them develop the necessary skills to navigate a complex workplace.

Research Interests:
There are two main areas of interest. One is in clinical infectious diseases and the other is medical education research.
